چکیده

Soil erosion modeling is becoming more significant in the development and implementation of soil management conservation policies. For a better understanding geographical distribution erosion, spatial-based models are required. The current study proposed model that integrated geographic information systems (GIS) techniques with both universal loss equation (USLE) Index Land Susceptibility to Wind Erosion (ILSWE). Spatial Loss Model (SSLM) was designed generate potential maps based on water wind by integrating factors USLE ILSWE into GIS environment. Hence, main objective this predict, quantify, assess hazards using SSLM Dakhla Oasis as case study. values were computed overlaying five factors: rainfall factor (R-Factor), erodibility (K-Factor), topography (LS-Factor), crop types (C-Factor), practice (P-Factor). severity wind-driven calculated climatic erosivity (CE-Factor), (E-Factor), crust (SC-Factor), vegetation cover (VC-Factor), surface roughness (SR-Factor). statistically validated comparing its outputs results models. varied from 0.26 3.51 t ha?1 yr?1 an average 1.30 3.09 mean 1.33 yr?1, respectively. As result, according assessment SSLM, one class, very low class (<6.7 yr?1), has been reported be prevalent area. These findings indicate slightly eroded tolerable against under conditions. Furthermore, area classified four classes severity: slight, moderate, high, representing 1.0%, 25.2%, 41.5%, 32.3% total area, respectively, 0.9%, 25.4%, 43.9%, 29.9%, SSLM. Consequently, qualified promising for sustainable agriculture when appropriate applied. rates had strong positive correlation (r = 0.97 0.98, respectively), rates, well relationship linear regression (R2 0.94 0.97, respectively). present attempt adopt compute map erosion. It also pointed out designing spatial available data sources integration viable option calculating rates. Therefore, fit assessing valid use other studies arid regions same

Modeling Soil Erosion Using Rusle and Gis Tools

Soil erosion involves detachment and transport of soil particles from top soil layers, degrading soil quality and reducing the productivity of affected lands. Soil eroded from the upland catchment causes depletion of fertile agricultural land and the resulting sediment deposited at the river networks creates river morphological change and reservoir sedimentation problems. However, land managers...

Wind Erosion Assessment in Austria Using Wind Erosion Equation and GIS

Soil erosion by wind is a serious problem in many parts of Europe and leads to degradation of the resource soil. In order to achieve sustainable land use, tools to identify problem areas and to evaluate environmental sound management practices are needed and necessary. Until now no wind erosion measurements have been carried out in Austria. For the fist time assessment of soil erosion by wind h...

Application of Gully and Rill Erosion Indicators for Estimating Soil Loss Using GIS Techniques

The problems of land degradation and soil loss are among the major problems of watersheds in Iran. For erosion andsediment estimation one can use statistical and empirical methods. For doing this, land unit map and the map of effectivefactors should be prepared. For erosion and sediment estimation one can use statistical and empirical methods. However, these empirical methods are usually time co...

Application of USLE Model & GIS in Estimation of Soil Erosion for Tandula Reservoir

Assessment of soil erosion is expensive and intensively long exercise. A number of parametric models have been developed to forecast soil erosion at drainage basins, yet Universal Soil Loss Equation, popularly known as USLE model is most widely used empirical formula for estimating annual soil loss from agricultural basins. With the advance of Remote Sensing technique it becomes possible to mea...

Soil erosion modelled with USLE and PESERA using QuickBird derived vegetation parameters in an alpine catchment

The focus of soil erosion research in the Alps has been in two categories: (i) on-sitemeasurements, which are rather small scale point measurements on selected plots often constrained to irrigation experiments or (ii) off-site quantification of sediment delivery at the outlet of the catchment. Results of both categories pointed towards the importance of an intact vegetation cover to prevent soi...
